Student Employment Services
SIAST students and graduates are highly sought after by employers. With nearly a third of Canada's labour force set to retire in the next five to ten years, employers are actively searching for quality employees to fill vacancies left by retirees, and to provide new skills for evolving industries and their technologies.
SIAST graduates have the knowledge, training, and skills to confidently move into new positions, and to supply industry with the much-needed know-how for today's diversifying economy.
Student Employment Services (SES) at each campus provide the services needed to put SIAST students, graduates, and employers together. By helping to secure suitable employment for SIAST students near or after graduation, SES also satisfies the needs of recruiting employers.
Primary SES services may include:- communicating with potential employers about job opportunities
- posting job opportunities as they become available
- contacting students and graduates about job opportunities
- arranging on-campus interviews and employer visits
- providing students with information about potential employers, job search tools, and trends in the labour market
- hosting an annual career fair
